The kids had a great time on the slip 'n slide this past week. We might even try it again sometime.

I can see their eyes!
The girls have needed hair cuts for...hmm... almost as long as I have. I was thrilled to come back from soccer with the boys to see my girls with shorter hair. Thanks Layne for being not only 'Chef Daddy' - but, the family 'hair technician'. (Layne cuts everyone's hair except for mine - even his own.)

Technical Difficulties/Perfectionism
I'm starting to lose hope that this will look like what I want it to before sending it out. So, please be patient as I attempt to figure out what I'm doing with this whole blogging thing. It's not very pretty at the moment. I like things to look a certain way when I'm the one that 'gets' to claim it - this just isn't what I had in mind. It will get there. Thanks for your patience. I'd rather share the current stuff than never get around to inviting anyone because it wasn't quite what I wanted it to be. It'll be a fun journey.

To Blog or Not to Blog
I have been thinking about this for awhile. Obviously, I finally decided to just dive in. Ok, for how long I've been considering it, it's more like inching into the shallow end with the little kids at the swimming pool. I'm not sure why it takes me so long to do some things.
I finally decided that yes - it would be great to have a way to keep in touch with others, keep some of you updated, learn how to do something new and do something that I just might enjoy.
I've been holding back because I just wasn't sure when I was going to fit it into the schedule or rather it was a safe thing to do for my kids. I'm not sure both of those things are completely resolved - there are always more items to fit into the schedule and something to be worried about with children. There are always risks in life - you know, like driving your van with all of your children in it - you might get in an accident someday.:} You just do the best you can. A life lived without taking any risks is not healthy for anyone - child or adult.
"Biggest Birthday Surprise Ever"
The kids and I just happened to be in an accident this past week - on my birthday. The van is not pretty - we're still in the process of finding out rather it's 'salvageable' or not. I was talking with the boys about it later - what happened and how they felt. Jonny stated that the accident must have been my 'biggest birthday surprise ever'. Yes - it certainly was a big surprise!
We feel fortunate that we all walked away from the whole event. And, that we have family and friends that have been very supportive.
