Hi-Ho the Dario...

The girls and I were listening to a cd of nursery rhymes earlier today. Megan asked me..."Mom, what's a dario?". I didn't have an answer. As a parent, are you supposed to make up an answer if you don't have one?:} Truthfully - I had never even considered her question before. The idea she came up with is that it's a really big barn. Hmm...at least it's in context.

I have had a question since then - how do you spell 'dario'? Is it like I have been spelling it...as it Mario? (My boys would be proud!) Or, is it dareo...like oreo? Or, maybe it's dairy-o because part of the meaning might have some to do with dairy? Such are the questions of life...

Can't Forget The Boys

I just realized the last couple of posts have been about the girls - so, thought I'd better throw something in about the boys too.

Jacob just finished Cub Scouts. The troop here does a cool thing, where they put everything the scout has earned on one 'skin'. It's pretty cool. Here's Jacob with his. Way to go, Jake!
Jonny loves a story. Here he is with one of the 'Warriors' books - currently one of his favorite series. He loves to read to anyone who will sit with him and listen. He also loves to share the stories he creates with anyone who will lend an ear.

Tonight, the girls were getting ready for bed. Megan was looking Rachel's way and asked, "Rachel...Best friends?". Rachel quickly responded with..."Forever!". Cute!! (I wonder how long it will last.)

Long Time No Write

I haven't written/shared much lately. It's been busy around here and this seems to be one of the first things that goes. I also feel like I need to do more with photos and that takes more time. So, I end up not posting at all. Maybe I'll try to get back into it a little at a time.

The kids have had a busy school year. They've all progressed - always a sigh of relief. Odd to think they're on the downhill side of the school year. They haven't started an official countdown to the end of school yet - but, I'm sure they'll figure it out soon. There's about 1/3 of the school year left. I spend time each week in their classes - so, I feel like counting down too by the time they figure it out.

I've been struggling with keeping priorities and tasks balanced these days - seems to be an ongoing thing for me.

Layne is doing the job hunt thing - it'll be interesting to see where we end up...or if we get to stay here. (He currently has a post doc - but, those are temporary in nature, so we're on to the next step.)
